Mary and Michael are
both unhappy in their marriage.
Mary is seeing Robert and Michael is seeing Lucy. They both have decided to end their
marriage after their son Joel and his girlfriend Erin end their visit. Joel has warned Erin that his parents
don’t even like each other? Mary
and Michael haven’t talked to each other about their plans but they are both
glad the time to leave will be soon.
Suddenly, they start to see each other in a different way as the time
nears. Even Joel is surprised to
see that they seem to be getting along?
There are a lot of
repetitive scenes in this film and it’s very slow paced. Mary and Michael don’t seem to have
chemistry but they don’t have chemistry with Robert and Lucy either? Everything is bland in this film as
well. Their home, their
neighborhood, their jobs and they treat each other with disregard. They openly lie to each other but don’t
even bother to think up a believable lie.
That would be too much work!! The
people they have chosen to leave their marriage for don’t seem to be any
better than what they have? In fact, they may be more
whining, difficult and demanding? 2* (I didn't like this movie)
