Renee Bennett
struggles with feelings of deep insecurity about her looks and her low
self-esteem. These feelings hold
her back every day. She attends a cycling
class and she hits her head very badly when she falls off the bike. Suddenly, Renee feels she is supermodel
beautiful!! She applies for a receptionist
job and she finally feels able to live fearlessly and flawlessly. She knows she “got it” and she flaunts
it!!
The basic premise of
this film is that you must be beautiful to fulfill your dreams?? What kind of message does that send to
girls, young women and older women??
What about being a good person, having goals and your achievements defining your life?? Anything other than the shallowness of,
“Oh look how pretty I am??” I was
surprised at how much consumerism there is in this film? Renee is standing in a Target store
with the shelves behind her full of products. 3* (This movie is OK)
