Stephen
Dallas has left his home and taken a new job to get away from his fiancée
who is marrying someone else. He meets
Stella Martin and they fall quickly in love. She’s a working class gal and he finds the way she acts and
dresses beneath his style. At
first, she wanted to be classic like him but now she just wants to be herself. They have a daughter Laurel but when
Stephen takes a different job in New York, Stella refuses to move.
