In
the town of Meredith in upstate New York they have a failing
economy because they are a farming town.
Residents are approached by wind power companies, it’s wind, they have a
lot, it’s free, it’s green, it must be good? The town goes to battle over embracing this idea or throwing
it out the window. Neighbors
become pitted against each other depending upon which side they are on.
I didn't know there are a lot of problems with wind power, especially if the wind machines are places where people actually live. There is a huge expense so the companies want to put up a
lot of turbines, they are very big, nearby homes experience the shadow effect of the
rotating vanes through their windows and the vibration can go through the house.
Some people are able to move away but others become ill from the
side effects. They can also catch fire, fall
over and they throw ice. 4* (I
really liked this movie)
