Los Angeles has
been taken over by a power-hungry East Coast mobster. Mickey Cohen is a former boxer born in Brooklyn with a
reputation and the respect of the Italian mob. Many of the judges and police chiefs plus regular policeman
have been bought by Cohen to look the other way. Chief Parker is the one of the honest few and he asks
Sgt. John O’Mara to assemble a task force to burn Cohen’s empire to the ground. Everyone who goes against Cohen is in
danger including their families.
This is the 40’s and the time of the Tommy gun named after the 1919
inventor, John T. Thompson. Clips
provide a high volume of ammunition.
This movie is just
OK, instead of expert plans they are flying by the seat of their pants the
entire way. They get lucky in the
beginning and have some success but Cohen is a formidable opponent and he has a
lot of manpower behind him. 3* (This movie is OK)
