This documentary was originally shown on PBS television. In 1989, a 28 year-old woman was attacked,
hit several times on the head with a tree branch and raped while jogging about
9PM in Central Park of New York City.
Six teenagers from Harlem had been in the park and they were brought in
for questioning. There was a rush
to indict suspects by the police, the media was clamoring for sensational
stories and the usually complacent public was outraged.
This is a powerful and moving film. The teens were between 14 and 16 years old, there were
confessions but they were after they had been held for a long time, they were
under a lot of pressure and stress plus they were lied to and told what they
should say. 4* (I liked this
movie)
