Based on a book by Stephen Rebello about the making of Psycho. This film shows the relationship
between Alfred and his wife, Alma Reville in 1959. She did a lot of behind-the-scenes work on his movies
without the credit he received. There
have been suggestions that it’s time for Hitchcock to retire and he’s having
trouble finding his next film project.
Everyone is against the idea of doing Psycho, even Alma thinks it won’t
work or be a success. There is a
lot riding on this film, they have mortgaged their house for the financing. Hitchcock becomes obsessed with the
movie and dreams about it too.
Interesting to see the inspiration for Psycho and Hitchcock as a
director plus his personal life.
Hopkins looks nothing like himself and Mirren gives a strong
performance. I don’t know how much
is based on fact but this is entertainment not Wikipedia. 3 ½* (I liked this movie)
98 min, Drama directed by Sacha Gervasi, Ryan Murphy with

Note:

Tomatoes.
