This
film is set in a stark desert area and is a post-apocalyptic story. For humanity, living is a constant struggle for
basic necessities. Max has lost
his wife and child and he is tormented by not being able to save them. Imperator Furiosa believes she will
have a better life if she returns across the desert to her childhood
homeland.
There
is a lot of constant action, strange characters and a more strange
landscape. Power, oil and water
are the valuable currency for this age.
There isn’t much dialogue but most of the film is speeding, chasing,
crashing, exploding, fighting and flying bodies. Some of the fighters believe they will journey to an immortal life in
Valhalla after dying here. Over
80% of the visual effects are real effects, stunts, make-up and sets. Computer images were used mainly to
enhance the landscape, remove rigging and to change Furiosa’s arm. I was really GLAD to get back to a
regular Earth after viewing this film!!
4* (I really liked this movie)
