This
film is based on a novel by Chad Kulgen. It is the story of a group of high school teenagers and
their parents in a small Texas town.
The internet has changed schoolwork, relationships, communication and
the involvement of parents. Some
parents are strict about internet rules and others don’t think about it. There are many issues featured such as
gaming, dieting, cheating, fame seeking and the dark side of the net. Parents and teens still have choices,
black, and white plus gray.
There
are too many instances of the internet shown on the screen with the
character. The lettering is small
and not easy to read. Is this a
movie or an internet session? I
was more than slightly leery of this film as soon as I saw Adam Sandler as one
of the characters. Is there any
movie that he can’t pull down to the bottom numbers in ratings? I just did not
find this interesting or enjoyable plus I felt a cringe every time I saw Adam Sandler!!
