Based on a true story, Karen Silkwood works at the Kerr-McGee Plant nuclear plant in Cimarron Oklahoma, it is 1974. The job is mundane until Karen and and several other employees become contaminated by radiation. Faulty fuel rods and inadequate safety measures are going unreported and covered up by the company. Karen begins working with the union to bring problems to the press but this causes dislike for her from other employees and the company. Her boyfriend and roommate also become drawn into this mess.
This is good, realistic, character driven, impressive acting and strong plot. You know what is happening to Karen and what they are doing to shut her up. One of the first movie screenplays from Nora Ephron. 4* (I really liked this movie)
