The Hunger Games 2012

     Based on a novel from a series by Suzanne Collins.  In North America of the future, each of twelve districts selects by lottery two teenagers to fight in the Hunger Games.  Some of the teenagers have trained their entire lives for these games and they volunteer from their district.  Primrose Everdeen has her name drawn but her sister Katniss volunteers to take her place.  Katniss is skilled in hunting and is older, she has a better chance of survival.

     This is like Survivor but the winner is the only one left alive.  There will be three more parts to this series, Catching Fire, Mockingjay Part 1 and Part 2 from 2013-2015.  More time in the editing room would have made this better, how many times do you need to flashback to the same memory?  I have a feeling the book allows more “suspension of disbelief?”  Some of the characters are ridiculous!  3* (This movie is OK)
