In this episode Foyle is assigned the task of protecting a notorious
Nazi war criminal, Karl Strasser. He is masquerading as a Dutch citizen, has
become a valuable asset for MI5 and provided them with information concerning
Russian spies. Foyle finds this
task exceedingly unsavory. The
Soviets and Americans have been tipped off that Strasser is under British protection.
He's worried someone
is after him and he’s being followed. An American colonel would like to take him into custody because he killed surrendered allied
soldiers during the war. A British soldier, Timmy
Nelson is still trying to recover from injuries as the only survivor of this episode. His physical wounds have healed but he
is still battling PTSD.
Karl Strasser is such a revolting individual that you are hoping he will
have some kind of accident. There are twists
and turns which require close attention and consideration of the details. 3 ½* (I liked this movie)
120 min, Crime directed by Anthony Horowitz with Michael
Kitchen, Honeysuckle Weeks, Anthony Howell, Jay Simpson, Julian Ovenden, Ellie
