Douglas
is a senior in a New Jersey High school of the 60’s. He becomes music obsessed after listening to the Beatles and
the Rolling Stones as they are first coming upon the music scene. He begins playing the drums in local
bands with his buddies. Over time,
he decides to abandon going into the military and going to college. He constantly fights with his gruff dad
over his appearance, attitude and choices. He finally catches a break for an audition with his band.
David Chase is the creator of the Sopranos. I liked the music and the soundtrack. Gandolfini really captures the
complaining dad role. Douglas
hopes to make a career out of the latest band. Sure, it’s rock and roll and New Jersey but also wishing and
hoping. 3* (This movie is OK)
