Rudina is the oldest daughter in an
Albanian family. She attends high school and is an excellent student. Her brother Nik is the oldest son and
he’s very popular in the same school.
Their father earns his living by delivering bread in their
community. He has been using a
short cut through a neighbor’s land for a long time but the neighbor decides to
close off this road. There is a
conflict and the neighbor is killed, their father is involved along with their
uncle. The police catch the uncle
but their father escapes into hiding.
Seems a lot longer than 109 minutes and I
could not finish this film. I expected a lot
more from the director of Maria Full of Grace. There is a lot of talking and not much going on except
Rudina doing the bread delivery.
2* (I didn’t like this movie)
109 min, Drama directed by Joshua
Marston with Tristan Halilaj, Refet Abazi, Zana Hasaj, Erjon Mani, Luan Jaha,
Cun Lajci, Veton Osmani.
Note: Imdb 6.7 out of 10, 86% critic 73% audience on Rotten
Tomatoes.
