This film takes place in West-Central Russia. Aist and Miron are members of an ancient Finno-Ugric tribe
from Lake Nero. The Merja people
assimilated into Russian in the 17-century but they continue their
myths and traditions in their modern life. Miron’s wife Tanya passes away and he asks Aist to help him
say goodbye according to their traditions.
This film is very slow paced with wonderful photography and filled with
the traditions of this tribe.
Water is very meaningful and to return to the water is immortality. 3* (This movie is OK)
