J. Edgar Hoover, powerful head of the FBI for
nearly 50 years,
looks back on his professional and personal life. At the beginning of
his career, he was fixated on Communists, anarchists and anyone taking
action against the government. His secretary, Helen, didn't want to get
married because she said her job came first and he felt the same way.
J. Edgar did the hiring and the firing, he kept confidential files on
people in the public eye. He did not hesitate to use them as blackmail
if it was needed.
I found this to be very dry, the other person I
viewed this with was more interested. I did find information such as J.
Edgar was the first investigator to set up files on fingerprints, staff
a scientific lab to investigate evidence and mark the money paid in
ransoms. He had skeletons in his own closet but did not hesitate to go
after others with their own secrets. 3* (This movie is OK)
