Wally Winthrop is obsessed with the relationship between
King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson, she was also named after Wallis.
In 1998 New York, there is an auction of the estate of the Duke and
Duchess of Windsor which draws Wally to visit and view all the objects
every day. As she becomes more involved in the details of their love
story, she begins to see the lack of love in her relationship with her
doctor husband. She would like to have a child but how can she if he's
never home? She begins to form a friendship with one of the security guards working for the auction house.
I found this very interesting, especially the clothing,
makeup and furnishings. This film has a back and forth style between
the 1936 and 1998. 4* (I really liked this movie)
