Vanetia
Casey is working hard to get life back to normal for her family. Her husband, Conor is 38 years old, he
suffered a stroke that has impaired him physically and changed his
personality. An American doctor,
Ted Fielding is a neuropsychologist with a research grant to study and film
them in their Ireland home for two months.
In the beginning, Vanetia feels more stressed with an extra person in
under foot while trying to care her sick husband and two young children. Over time, she sees that Ted has a
calming influence on the family.
This
film is very slow moving and you wonder if you could have a stroke in just the
time it takes for each scene? There is not a lot going on except interaction in the family
and it becomes difficult to watch Conor struggle against his
disadvantages. There are a lot of lows but some wonderful times for the family. 3* (This movie is
OK)
