Roy
and his wife Olivia live in Arizona and close to the border with Mexico. Olivia likes to ride her horse near
their fence line by the border. If
she sees people who have crossed onto their land, she gives them water and
blankets if she has them. Miguel
is crossing the border with another Mexican man and they meet Olivia. She is kind to them but someone has
been shooting at the men? Olivia’s
horse is spooked by one of the shots and she is thrown from her horse. She hits her head on a nearby rock and
she dies. Roy is a former Sheriff
and he cooperates with the current Sheriff but he learns the suspect that has
been arrested may not be guilty?
Roy heads out to where his wife died to look for evidence.
This
film is really about illegal immigration and the feelings of a lot of people
along the American side of the border.
Miguel’s pregnant wife, makes the trek into the States to try to find
her husband. He called their home
but she didn’t get to talk to him.
She doesn’t know he’s in jail and she has a lot of difficulties of her
own with the two men (coyotes) who have been paid to take her and others
across. Some border agents are
willing to look the other way for the coyotes as long as they can get some
money. The only relief from all of this drama are the scenes of the beautiful scenery of this area. 3* (This movie is OK)
