This
film is based on the true story of the writer/director/co-producer’s personal
experience as a father. Maggie and
Aaron Royal are very happy to be expecting a baby. Everything is going normally until Maggie goes in for a
38-week checkup. There isn’t a
heartbeat for the baby. She will need
to come back the next day and have labor induced to deliver the baby. Maggie and Aaron spend an hour
cherishing and holding their son but they have to let him go. This experience is a crushing blow to
both parents, they need to communicate their sorrow and sadness but they turn
inward instead in their grief.
Their marriage begins to suffer and Maggie asks Aaron for a divorce.
This
is a very sad but caring movie with a lot of information. Maggie’s doctor, Claire Holden knows
how to help the couple if they will open up and let her. 3 ½* (I liked this movie)
