This
film is based on a novel by Gayle Forman.
Mia Hall loves the cello, she loves classical music and she lives in
Portland. She is the only one in her
family interested in this type of music and she wonders why they all like rock and roll? She’s really surprised when she meets Adam,
he’s like the rest of her family, into rock and roll. Mia applies to Juilliard and she has one more year of high
school. Adam graduates and he’s the lead
singer and guitarist of a band that is touring and starting to get recording
offers. Mia’s family gets the day
off for a snow day and they finally convince her to go with them. It’s a family drive through the
pristine snow on their way to see a friends and their new baby. Amid the peacefulness, everything
changes in an instant.
This
is good, I wasn’t sure how this was going to turn out. There are definitely two possible endings. There are also slight undertones of
Nicolas Sparks in this film? 3 ½*
