Clifford Mortimer is a successful lawyer who becomes blind when he reaches middle
age.
He requires the aid of his family to be able to continue his battles in the
courtroom . His son John is an only child in the UK and he was sent to
a boys boarding school. He struggles with bitter memories of his
relationship with his father but he also desires his respect and love.
He never thought he would follow the law in his father's footsteps
but he wants to marry which will require a steady income. In the
process of talking about their common bond in the law, he begins to love
his father and he finds love in return.
When John brings his
future bride to meet his family, you see his father's blindness through
a new pair of eyes. She wonders why they treat him as if he were not
blind but they have always treated him this way? Interesting to see the
boarding school environment and the family
relationships. 3 1/2* (I liked this movie)
