The
setting is 1963 in Yokohama and Japan is preparing for the 1964 Tokyo Summer
Olympics. Umi and Shun are in
school and they are trying to save a dilapidated clubhouse called the Latin
Quarter from demolition. They are
working together and starting to like each other when they learn they really
may be brother and sister? This is
a significant blow and they need to work together on this new project to find
out the truth.
Umi
has a lot of responsibilities for her age while her mother is in the United
States but she manages to help run the family boarding house and take care of
her two younger siblings. Her
grandmother is also there to help and is paying another woman to help Umi. How many American teens could do all
this and not complain too? 3*
