This
film is based on the seventh book in a series of novels by Bill Granger. The
CIA has a double agent in Russia who is working closely with a man running for
the Russian presidency. It is
believed he committed crimes during the Chechen war. This agent has the name of someone who can prove these
accusations but she will not give up the name until she is extracted. Peter Deveraux is a former CIA agent
and he’s sent to get her out. Just
before her pickup, the Russian man learns she has been in his safe. Deveraux has her safely in his car but the order is given for
her termination? Deveraux goes off
on his own when he learns the CIA ordered the kill? Deveraux trained David Mason but now David's job is to find Deveraux
and kill him.
This
film has the feel and look of a James Bond or Jason Bourne movie. But, a lot of graphic violence
and insults are included. It seems like there is a check off list of items this type of film needs to show. Character development is lacking so
it doesn’t have much effect when someone is eliminated? 2 ½* (This movie is
so-so)
