Gone Girl is based on the bestseller by Gillian Flynn. It is the fifth wedding anniversary for Nick and Amy
Dunne. When Nick gets home from
work, he finds the front door of their home open and their cat outside? He calls the police and they begin a
long investigation. Of course, the
primary suspect is Nick Dunne. The
media begins going crazy and Nick becomes one of the most hated man in
America. Amy Dunne becomes a saint
and everyone’s sweetheart.
This
film starts off slowly and you’re not sure where it’s going but you don't see this ending coming? Did
Nick kill Amy, if he did where is the body? Is he going to trial, can he be convicted with a body and the death penalty is in Missouri? 3 1/2* (I liked this movie)
149
min, Drama directed by David Fincher with Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, Neil
Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, Carrie Coon, Kim Dickens, Patrick Fugit, David
Clennon, Lisa Banes, Missi Pyle, Emly Ratajkowski, Casey Wilson.
Note: Imdb 8.2 out of 10, 88% critic 88%
audience on Rotten Tomatoes, Roger Ebert 3 ½*.
Special
Note: In several of the scenes I
noticed the strong resemblance between Ben and Casey Affleck. I don’t remember noticing this in other
films? Gillian Flynn is a former
writer for Entertainment Weekly and she wrote two popular novels before Gone
Girl, Sharp Objects and Dark
Places.
