Portia
Nathan has worked for 16 years as a Princeton admissions officer. She is hoping to take the helm of this department after the current boss retires.
She will be glad to let go of traveling to different schools
promoting applications to Princeton.
John Pressman gives her a call, he's a former college classmate now running an alternative high
school with several gifted students.
Portia stops by the school on her recruiting trip and it is a much different
experience than her other stops. John
tries to persuade Portia that one of the students, Jeremiah, would be the perfect candidate for
Princeton. She will need to be very
careful she doesn’t overstep her bounds in looking over Jeremiah’s application.
I
thought this was enjoyable, it’s not predictable and it is funny. Lily Tomlin is Portia’s mother and she
is a crazy feminist!! I’m
surprised the other reviews are so low for this film? This is just a lightweight comedy with some romance and it’s
not brain surgery? 3 ½* (I liked
this movie)
107
min, Comedy directed by Paul Weitz with Tina Fey, Paul Rudd, Nat Wolff, Gloria
Reuben, Wallace Shawn, Christopher Evan Welch, Sarita Choudhury.
Note: Blockbuster 2 ½*, imdb 5.6 out of 10,
38% critic 35% audience on Rotten Tomatoes.
