Based on a novel by Com Toibin. Declan Kehoe is a 30 year-old Irishman
suffering from a terminal illness. He hasn’t let anyone in his family know
he’s sick until he had to go to the hospital. He has a friend contact his sister and she tells his mother
and grandmother. He wants to leave
the hospital for as long as he can and stay by the shore at his granny’s
house. His granny, sister, mother
and two friends help him settle in until he will need to return to the hospital. There had been a fracture in his family
between all the women but it begins to heal when they are all faced with this
emergency.
OK, this is a Hallmark movie, prepare to
get out the tissues!! I was able
to get through this without a single tear by perseverance. The story is told with a lot of
flashbacks but is well done with beautiful photography of the Irish
coastline. 3* (This movie is OK)
