Johnny
Trey is a former rock star with a number one single 20 years ago. Now he’s a music director at a local Church
in a small Alabama town. Mossy, his
former manager comes to talk to him about making a new release of the hit
single. Johnny doesn’t want that
kind of life anymore and he’s glad to have left it behind. His daughter Grace doesn’t feel the
same way. She’s tired of her dad
dogging her every move and dictating how to play music. She sends a demo to Mossy and he’s
excited about making her a pop superstar.
Her parents are very worried about her move to Los Angeles.
This
is very predictable and broadcasts what is going to happen right away. Not many surprises, not a bad movie,
there are enjoyable characters. 3*
