This
film shows both small family beekeepers and industrialized honey farms. The relationship between mankind and
the bees is also featured. We rely on the
bees to pollinate many plants that are the basis of our food supply. China has tried hand pollination after
their bee population was decimated but we cannot do the job as well even with
unlimited hands working. Disasters
and crises among the bee populations are causing colony collapse, disease and
evolution. African killer bees
that escaped from a South American experimental lab are also explored.
This
is very fascinating and a lot of facts presented are very
alarming. The industrial bee farms
show no compassion or respect for the lives of the bees. Some practices by the small beekeepers
are disturbing as well.
Information filled and interesting. 3 ½* (I liked this movie)
