In
1933 Katsuzo was in love with a geisha and they had a daughter. Their plan was to run away together but
they were caught and the woman was killed. Now he works as a zegen, a man who obtains women to be
trained as new geishas. He sells
girls to the Yokioro, the biggest house in Southern Japan. His daughter has become a great geisha
using the name Momowaka.
There
are many cultural differences between America and Japan. We will probably never understand their
culture. This is interesting but
so complex that I could not continue watching since this is also very lengthy. It does bring out a lot of points that
I did not know about the geisha women.
