The Summit 2012

The Summit     On August 1, 2008, eleven climbers died on K2.  This mountain is an extension of the northwestern Himalayan Mountain Range and is located between Pakistan and China.  There is a one in four fatality rate for climbing this mountain and most of the accidents happen on the descent.  There were 22 international climbers waiting at High Camp, the last stop before the summit.  Many who survived didn’t know what happened or how the climbers died.
A climber went around another climber in order to go back on the ascent path.  He fell and others didn’t know if he was dead or alive.  Three climbers went to help him and another climber fell.  These incidents caused a delay for those waiting to summit.  Then an icefall kills another climber.  Everything became so complicated that it was difficult to figure out what was happening.  3* (This movie is OK)
