Firecreek 1968

Johnny Cobb is a farmer and a family man with two boys.  His wife is expecting a new baby too.  He is also the Firecreek sheriff and he gets paid $2 a month for this side job.  Usually the town is quiet with no problems for him to solve.  A group of hired killers and their leader Larkin decide to spend the night in town.  Larkin is suffering from a gunshot wound and he needs some time off his horse.  They are also going out of their way to try and evade a posse.  The men have hair triggers and it doesn’t take much for them to be set off.  They get a lot of wrong ideas about the town and the people too.  Larkin knows he can only go so far in controlling these men.  A lot of drinking doesn’t help their temperaments or behaviors either.  Johnny receives word that his wife is having a difficult time and he goes back to the farm to help her.
The hired killers are used to working the ranch wars where anything goes.  They believe anything goes in this town.  They challenge everyone to stand up to them.  They don’t believe the $2 a month sheriff will risk his neck to rein them in.  Everyone in the town starts to take stock of what kind of person they really are and how far will they go for each other and their town.  3* (This movie is OK)
