Superstructures: Engineering Marvels 2019

This DVD was produced by National Geographic.  Details are revealed of the extraordinary feats of engineering hidden in the world's most spectacular man made structures.
As you can tell from my listing of the subjects below, there is a wide range of different largest superstructures.  All the information in this film very interesting and I didn't know a lot of the details before viewing.  270 min, 2 discs.  5* (I really liked this movie)

     (1) The first selection is the International Space Station costing $150 billion dollars.  This is the most expensive structure ever built by humans.  The size of the station is slightly larger than a football field at 356 feet.  It weigh about 450 tons or 450 times the weight of an average car!!  One of the long-term health problems is the loss of bone and muscle mass because of zero gravity in space.
    (2) The Ultimate Cargo Ship has been designed as the ultimate heavyweight ocean transporter by GPO.  The deck of the Amethyst is flat and it can sink into the ocean.  Two enormous oil rigs are transferred to the deck and they will be delivered to the Middle East.  This vessel is owned and operated by Russia.  The length is 108 meters and the beam is 15 meters.  The recent port calls are Haifa, Istanbul, Bosphorus North, Kerch Strait North, Yeysk.    There are four ships of this type built in Singapore by Greenland Heavylift Holdings and operated by GPO Heavylift.
    (3) Monster Plane, the unique Anotonov AN-255 can carry the world's heaviest air freight.  The maximum takeoff weight for this plane is greater than 640 tons.  This plane was originally built as transport for the Soviet Union's Buran space shuttle.  This plane is now 30 years old and recently upgraded to give it another 20 years of service.  It rarely takes to the skies and it's housed under an enormous steel arch.  A crews of dedicated employees still maintain the plane.
    (4) Tallest building is the Burj Khalilfa formerly known as Bruj Dubai.  At more than half a mile high (829.8meters), it's the tallest skyscraper ever constructed.  It is located in Burj Khalifa, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.  It has 4.7* with 89 reviews on a hotel travel web site.  It is owned by Emaar Properties.  The price of one of the cheapest apartments is nearly $1,400 per sqft.  The lowest priced residential unit for sale is 2.7 million or 4,945 per sqft.
    (5) Biggest Dome.  The Singapore National Sadiu, holds the record for the largest free spanning dome in the world.  It is located in Kallang, Singapore and it is a multi-purpose stadium.  The domed roof structure has a retractable roof and configurable seating on the lowest tier.  The seating capacity is 55,000 for football and rugby, 52,000 for cricket or 50,000 for other athletic events and concerts.
    (6) Germany's Wolfsburg car factory is the largest in the world.
The engineering and production innovations are hidden inside it.  The model ranges are Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Ducati, Lamborghini, MAN, Neoplan, Porsche, Scania, SEAT, Skoda, TRATON AG and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
