A conservative father doesn't understand his teenage son during the 60's, they have a falling out over his music and the burning of an American Flag. Gabriel storms out of the house and they don't see him again for 20 years. He's been homeless, they don't know for how long and he has a brain tumor which was long neglected. The tumor has spread causing all of his memories both from the past and new memories to be erased except for the period of the 60's. Gabriel only comes alive when he hears the music he loves but his father hates this music. They do work together to find common ground but the movie see saws back and forth from very down to upbeat. The characters seem weak and you can't find the empathy for Gabriel that you need to involve yourself in his story. 3* (This movie is OK)
