Wild Card 2015

fpo   Nick Wild lives in Las Vegas but he has a gambling problem.  His official job is working as a professional bodyguard.  Cyrus Kinnick hires him for a tour of the town and the casinos.  Nick doesn’t stick around when he begins to feel more like a babysitter.  His friend Holly has just gotten out of the hospital after a ‘party’ that didn’t turn out very well for her.  She wants Nick to go see the man who hurt her and give him a payback.  Nick knows he’s a mob boss and he has at least two tough bodyguards with him at all times.  Holly starts making Nick feel bad and he does pay them a visit.  He knows he will have to get out of Vegas because what ‘happens in Vegas’ does not really stay in Vegas.
The story is thin and there doesn't need to be much of a story or plot.  This film is about violent fighting and many confrontations are included.  This is also about gambling so Nick has a long night of gambling.  The best part of the movie is the 1969 Ford Torino GT!!  2 ½* (This movie was just so-so)

92 min, Action directed by Simon West with Jason Statham, Michael Angarano, Dominik Garcia-Lorido, Hope Davis, Milo Ventimiglia, Max Casella, Stanley Tucci, Jason Alexander, Sofia Vergara, Anne Heche.

Note:  Imdb 5.6 out of 10, 27% critic 29% audience on Rotten Tomatoes, Roger Ebert 2 ½*.
Special Note:  This film is the third in a series of films featuring Nick the Vegas chaperone.  William Goldman wrote the original novel these films were based on in 1986.  The first film adaptation featured Burt Reynolds, the novel and the film were both titled Heat.  This movie was filmed in New Orleans, Louisiana.  In order to maintain a lean figure, Statham consumed just spinach and brown rice?
