Last Ounce of Courage 2012

Bob Revere encourages the people of his town to fight back as their rights are being stripped away.  Tom Revere, Bob’s son died defending America in the Army.  His wife Carrie gave birth to their son Christian while he was away.  Fourteen years after Tom’s death, his wife and their son move back to Mount Columbus in the Rocky Mountains to be with family.  Bob is a pharmacist, he is now the mayor and he wants to teach Christian to battle for liberty and unite to make a difference.  Bob and Christian are struggling to connect and they are both still feeling tremendous pain over the loss of Tom.  They are trying to find a way to unite to make a difference in their community.
I think the only thing missing from this movie is a daily serving of apple pie!!  This film could’ve been very good but it uses a sledgehammer to bring home its message of American freedoms.  The focus becomes too narrow and relates fighting in war to saving the religious meanings of Christmas?  2 ½* (This movie is so-so)
99 min, Drama directed by Kevin McAfee and Darrel Campbell with Marshall Teague, Jennifer O’Neill, Fred Williamson, Jenna Boyd, Rusty Joiner, Hunter Gomez, Darrel Campbell, Nikki Novak.
Note:  Imdb 4 out of 10, 69% audience on Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic 11 out of 100 with 5 critics 4.6 out of 10 with 42 reviews, Common Sense Media age 10+, 1* out of 5*, Positive 1*, Role Models 1* Violence 1*, sex 1*, drinking, drugs, smoking 1*, Amazon 4.8* out of 5* with 564 reviews.
Special Note:  Filmed in St. Joseph, Missouri; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Paola, Kansas; Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, Silverton, Colorado.  Also referred to as the War on Christmas.  There is a factual error pertaining to the guns used.  The US Army Special Forces are seen using M16 rifles.  At the onset of the Global War On Terror, M16 rifles were phased out and replaced by the M4 carbine.  Not just for Special Forces but also in most US Army Light Infantry Units.
