Once Upon a Time in Hollywood 2019

The setting of this film is 1969 in Los Angeles California.  It is somewhat based on the murder of Sharon Tate by the Charles Manson family.  Everything is changing in Hollywood, actors and other professionals need to adapt.  TV star Rick Dalton and his stunt double Cliff Booth are trying to hold onto their careers in this new film industry.

I really liked the vintage cars and I wonder how fast they are really going because they seem to be very fast??  The characters are believable and there are some very funny comedy scenes along with the serious scenes.  Brad Pitt’s has a dog and it is a pit bull and her real name is Sayuri.  This dog is literally and figuratively a real star!!  She is from Delaware and she plays Brandy with stunt-double Cliff Booth as her owner.  They have rituals about her food!!  There is also a rumor that Cliff Booth killed his wife and he was never charged?

This is an intense crime movie with extremely shocking and graphic violence.  There is very strong language, sex talk, scantily clad women.  Characters drink and smoke tons of cigarettes (one dipped in acid) and one character thinks he may be an alcoholic.  Along with the negatives there is the positives that the film is complex, funny, smart, mixes up fact and fiction plus beautifully filmed.  5* (I really liked this movie)
