Exporting Raymond 2010

Exporting Raymond Poster
Television producer Phil Rosenthal flies to Russia to help them adapt Everybody Loves Raymond for Russian television.  Rosenthal won an Emmy for the show and it's based on his family.  The Russians don't seem to understand his sense of humor and they don't seem eager for his input.  There are cultural differences and creative differences between Russians and Americans.
This is funny, Rosenthal is nervous about going to Russia and is worried that he'll be kidnapped but his interpreter says he does not look like the type to be kidnapped?  The costume designer wants the wife in the series to wear designer clothes but she is a homemaker cleaning the house and taking care of children?  Situations funny to us are inexplicable to them?  3 1/2*  (I liked this movie)

85 min, Doc directed by Phil Rosenthal with Stanislav Duzhnikov, Anna Frolovtseva, Boris Klyuyev, Konstantin Naumochkin, Aleksandr Zhigalkin.

Note:  Blockbuster 3 1/2*, imdb 6.6 out of 10, 71% critic 74% audience on Rotten Tomatoes.
