We Have a Pope 2011

We Have a Pope (2011)     The College of Cardinals debated and cast a number of ballots but they finally have a majority.  There is only one problem, their selection doesn’t want to be Pope!  He is a humble man, not well known but respected.  He flies into a panic when he hears the news and a psychiatrist is brought in to find out if it’s a case of the jitters or a more serious problem.  After some initial interviews, the psychiatrist seeks a second opinion.
This is a good premise but it seems so long and dry which makes reading the subtitles too much effort for such little payoff.  Boils down to a lot of stalling to get to an ending.  3* (This movie is OK)

105 min, Drama directed by Nanni Moretti with Michel Piccoli, Margherita Buy, Jerzy Stuhr, Renato Scarpa , Cecilia Dazzi, Pope John Paul II.

Note:  Blockbuster 3*, imdb 6.7 out of 10, 61% critic 55% audience on Rotten Tomatoes.
