Life of Pi 2012

Life of Pi     Based on a novel by Yann Martel.  Pi Patel is an Indian storyteller living in Canada.  A writer comes to visit him and he tells him about his childhood in Pondicherry, India.  Pi’s family owns the animals in a zoo but the city owns the land.  Santosh explains to his wife and two sons that the city will not be providing money to run the zoo and they are planning on selling the animals.  They will be moving to Canada and sailing by freighter with the animals.
This is very good, Pi does not want to leave India, it’s the only home he’s known.  The photography and the story are very moving with underlying meaning.  4* (I really liked this movie)

127 min, Adventure directed by Ang Lee with Suraj Sharma, Irrfan Khan, Adil Hussain, Ayush Tandon, Gautam Belur, Tabu, Ayaan Khan, Rafe Spall, Gerard Depardieu.

Note:  Blockbuster 4*, imdb 8.1 out of 10, 88% critic 87% audience on Rotten Tomatoes.
