Based on the novel by L. Frank Baum about the enduring tales of Oz. This film shows the prehistory of the movie the Wizard of Oz. Oscar Diggs is barely making ends meet at a Kansas circus. He’s a fast talking con man but he wants to do something great like the inventor Tomas Edison. He escapes the grasp of a rampaging strongman into a hot air balloon but he doesn’t see a tornado coming. The balloon takes him away to the magical world of Oz.
