Gravity 2013

Gravity     Dr. Ryan Stone and Matt Kowalsky are working on a mission to repair the Hubble telescope.  Dr. Stone is installing a system she invented and she is a brilliant bio-engineer on her first trip.  Kowalsky is in command of his last flight before retiring.  Suddenly, they get a warning from Houston that a Russian satellite has blown up and a massive storm of space debris is heading their way.  They lose communication and are hurtled loose from their tethers.  Dr. Stone is rolling over and over in space and Kowalsky is headed out to retrieve her before she runs out of oxygen.
This film is shown in either 2D or 3D, at first I wanted to see it in 3D but then I was worried about motion sickness.  There is a lot of spinning and the colors are very vivid.  A very different film with so much equipment reduced to nothingness and such vastness in the universe.  Interesting to see everyday objects floating in weightlessness.  4* (I really liked this movie)

91 min, Drama directed by Alfonso Cuaron with Sandra Bullock, George Clooney, Ed Harris, Orto Ignatiussen, Phaldut Sharma, Amy Warren, Basher Savage.

Note:  Blockbuster 4 ½*, imdb 8.5 out of 10, 97% critic 87% audience on Rotten Tomatoes.
