In the Fog 2012

In the Fog

The year is 1942 on the western frontier of the USSR under German occupation.  Sushenya is wrongfully accused of collaboration with the Germans.  He was brought in along with other railroad workers because of a train derailment.  The others were hanged but he was set free.  Now everyone thinks there must be a reason he was let go?  Even his wife doesn’t understand what is happening.  Two men show up at his door to kill him because of their mistrust.
Very slow moving and not one happy scene in the entire film.  Contentedness is being able to eat an onion or a potato.  The people are gray and the scenery is gray as well.  Everything is brutal from beginning to end.  3* (This movie is OK)

127 min, Drama directed by Sergei Loznitsa with Vladimir Svirskiy, Vladislav Abashin, Sergei Kolesov, Nikita Peremotovs, Yuliya Peresild, Kirill Petrov, Dmitrijs Kolosovs.

Note:  Imdb 6.6 out of 10, 89% critic 61% audience on Rotten Tomatoes.
