Battle Los Angeles 2011

Meteors that are hitting the water near large cities around the world.  They are found to be alien invaders and humans along the beaches are being killed.  A Marine platoon is dispatched to save Los Angeles.  Rescue civilians is their mission and they have only three hours to complete their task.  After this time limit the US Air Force will begin bombing the area.  Marine Staff Sergeant Nantz is about to retire but he is reassigned to a new platoon.  This platoon is flown by chopper to the forward operating base at Santa Monica Airport.  New 2nd Lt. Martinez is leading the platoon.  They are sent to rescue some civilians trapped at the police station within alien territory.  This job has a three hour time frame.

This is filmed like Marines in a combat zone at war with other people but these are aliens and their ships.  It just seems too unrealistic and doesn't capture your attention like it could or should.  Michelle Rodriquez, aren't there any other roles for her other than this film and Fast & Furious?  3* (This movie is OK)

Special Note:  Eckhart broke his arm while filming a stunt and he still never missed a day of work!!  He also said that this film was the most fun but the toughest.  He would like to return for a sequel and with the setting in Paris, France.  Marines from Camp Pendleton helped train the actors for their roles.  A number of actual marines also appear as extras.  To thank them, a sneak preview of the film was shown at the Camp.
