Lone Wolves & Dragon Tattoos: How Scandinavian Crime Fiction Conquered the World released 2/28/2011 US

This DVD traces the evolution of Nordic crime fiction.  It started from humble beginnings with the Martin Beck novels of the 1960s.  Then moved on straight through to the worldwide phenomenon of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.  This DVD features interviews with some of the actors, writers and producers who brought these mysteries to life on-screen.

With Stieg Larsson’s Millennium Trilogy topping the bestseller lists, Scandinavian crime fiction has never been hotter.  Characters like Henning Mankell's Detective Kurt Wallander and Norway's famous private investigator Varg Veum are riding the wave of Stieg Larsson's success.  It is interesting to see the people who have written these novels, interviews with the directors and find out information about the filming of these movies.  Plus, there is the added benefit of finding out about other novelists and movies in the same genre.  5* (I really liked this DVD)
