Based upon a novel from 1936, this is in three parts about a Yorkshire girls school and the surrounding countryside during the Depression. Interesting, enjoyable about another time, farm land, animals, a distinct divide between the poor and the wealthy. 3 1/2* (I liked this movie)177 min, Drama directed by Diarmuid Lawrence with Anna Maxwell Martin, David Morrissey, Penelope Wilton.

WOW, thank you for leaving a comment on my blog!! Sometimes it feels like there is no one out there!! Yes this series is very enjoyable, I like the English programs very much. Have you seen Cranford? This is good too. Another English DVD that I liked very much is Bleak House but it has many characters and it's very long. It's based on a novel by Charles Dickens.
