The Shunning 2011

The Shunning (2011)    A sheltered Amish girl begins to wonder about her past and her faith after she discovers the envelope of a burned letter in the fireplace of her parents.  A wealthy stranger has come to their town asking questions about a woman named Rebecca with a daughter of Katie's age.  Of course there are many Rebecca's in the Amish community but only one fits this description.  The austere rules that govern Katie's life make her want to find answers.
This is an interesting insight into Amish life, so many things are not allowed.  Playing the guitar and singing songs not in their hymn book?  3 1/2* (I liked this movie)

88 min, Drama directed by Michael Landon Jr. with Danielle Panabaker, Bill Oberst Jr., Sherry Stringfield, Burgess Jenkins, Sandra W. Van Natta, Richard Fullerton.

Note:  Blockbuster 3 1/2*, imdb 7.1 out of 10, not listed on Rotten Tomatoes.
