Adapted from a novel by George Simenon, Betty has been forced by her husband and his family to leave her children and her home. She has a breakdown but is rescued by an older woman named Laure. They are both alcoholics but Laure has managed to create a normal life for herself after the death of her husband. Laure is a former nurse, her husband was a doctor and she listens to Betty's stories of her life.This film uses a flashback flash forward technique to tell about Betty. This is interesting but I did not like the ending and I didn't see it coming. 3* (This movie is OK)
