Chasing Mavericks 2012

     Based on the true story of surfer Jay Moriarity of Santa Cruz.  Jay asks veteran surfer Frosty to prepare him to surf the Mavericks, legendary mountainous waves that come to the area only under certain weather conditions.  They can kill a surfer who isn't prepared and doesn’t know how to handle their massive power.  During the training they form a bond, Jay’s father left and Frosty begins to fill some of that void.

     This is seems so stiff and nearly without emotion, almost like robots playing the acting roles.  The story is good but stretched to the maximum and many questions about background details of the people go unanswered.  3* (This movie is OK)

116 min, Drama directed by Curtis Hanson, Michael Apted with Gerard Butler, John Weston, Elisabeth Shue, Abigail Spencer, Taylor Handley.
