Beaches 2017

This film is a remake of the 1988 movie with the same title that starred Bette Midler and Barbara Hershey.  CC Bloom and Hillary Whitney meet each other at a Southern California beach.  CC is a singing for money donations and Hillary is the daughter of a lawyer.  They promise each other that they will write and be friends forever.  CC realizes her dream to act and sing.  Hillary goes to law school and she marries.  It’s a long time before the two see each other again in person.  Hillary comes to visit CC with her husband.  They realize they don’t have things in common like they used to and their friendship is broken for a time.
I have seen the original film and I thought it was better than this versioin.  In the beginning of this film, I couldn’t connect with the two leads.  It took a while for me to care about what happened to them but then the story starting getting better.  3* (This movie was OK)
